what exactly would getting my heads done do for my performance/effeciency i know that is a popular mod and it makes sense more air in and more air out but what kind of numbers could i get out of doing that on my 4.7 i want to do the ho cams swape and and tune with that

 

I would contact AIRRAM on this.
ANy kind of a clean-up and maybe a 5angle grind on the seats would give a bit more flow. Unsure of specifics though

no affense, unless your gonna do it yourself i wouldnt spend the money. i have a 4.7 too, but i dont understand why everyone wants to sink money into a 4.7. might as well hold off, find a deal on a hemi and then start spending money. i understand basic mods, but for high dollar stuff like porting and polishing, i wouldnt bother.

just my opinion, to each his own.

 

is there an actual difference in performance is it worth the money i have a guy that will do the work for a pretty descent price is it something that i should really consider doing in the future

 

they say if the person isnt extremely experienced with it, you may end up loosing power. i dont have any experience with it so i dont even know what kind of numbers to give you. i know it cant possibly be more than 40hp, im educated guessing something around 20 is more reasonable.

 

Unless he has acess to a CNC machine and a flowbench i wouldn't bother. You cannot compare handy craftsman work to precise instruments like that. Won't even come close.
Proper head porting/polishing and valve seat/sizing, with a matched cam could add up to 60hp for an engine.
Mostly today your options are to buy a set of heads that are already set-up. You send your heads back for a core charge. New one's generally are bolt and go. Prices vary depending upon service rendered.
