went to highschool with a set of brothers who each have multiple vehicles (lexus, mercedes, etc) one brother had well over 100,000 in the car. parents pay it all.

another kid at a private school had a ferrari or lambo he drove around. i saw him one time i forget which brand it was, its been years.

but yea, paying for it yourself, you will take care of it. i love that blue btw

And you'd think it's a rich kid thing, but it ain't. One of my hunting buddy's has a sister, she's a school teacher & her husband lays tile for a bath & kitchen company.
They do OK, but very middle class, modest income & lifestyle. They have two sons, one nineteen and one fifteen. When the oldest turned sixteen they bought him a Chevy Z71, had it lifted and 33's put on it along with about $2k in stereo mods. Six year loan, now that the second kid is approaching 16, they were discussing how to get him a new truck while still having to pay for the other one and were sweating out a home equity approval to be able to afford both of them!!!

and that is how people end up in financial trouble when something doesn't go exactly as planned

I did have the "luxury" of a family owned farm truck, a twelve year old Jeep Pickup (yes Jeep used to make a pickup - full size and mid).

But I worked a summer off from school for my uncles septic tank cleaning business (yeah, shi$$y job) to buy my first car. A 1973 Nova 350 SS, I bought in the fall of '84 for $1200...
