The insects will stop at the air filter, and if you are in deep enough water that the intake starts sucking liters of water through the filter, you've got bigger problems than liquid lock... I have the jet stream air scoop. It looks kinda cool, and I've fabbed a box behind it to direct ram air right into my filter box.

I fabricated my own from a sheet of alum for about 5 bucks and again it is just directing cooler air toward the cai. I did not think it had a $40 benefit but for 5 and about 30 min of my time i figured what the hell!!

yeah shark, after I get off work and get near my ram I will take some and post them tonight, it was really very easy, I started with a pc of 12"x12" black aluminum from hardware store, cut it down to 9x9 one bend and screwed it to support post behind headlight. I also put a flat bracket in the center behind it for support since the alum is not that rigid.
