That is probably the single largest misunderstood thing in ALL of 4x4's and Off-Roading! Ground clearance on similarly designed trucks is determined by one thing and one thing only - Tire Height!!!

My truck with a 4" suspension lift and 35's, a truck with a 2" level kit and 35's or a truck with a 6" suspension lift and 35's & a truck with a 3" body lift and 35s would ALL have the same amount of ground clearance, assuming the 35's were all of the same exact height and we are talking the same model truck...

Oh, your talking about clearance at the differential. I thought you meant body clearance. My mistake. Dont hate me.

No hate, to me clearance is the lowest point, that would be the diff, unless you had a tail pipe hanging...

Well, thats dissapointing to hear how crappy the bfg's are. I always liked the looks of those tires, and thought they were good. What other decent a/t tires are there?

I will probably NEVER take this truck o/r, not for a while. Might get in a precarious situation that I need an extra bite, but no mudding for me (I just blew the motor in my old ford in a mudhole, although this was preventable and totaly my fault, but I pay just too dam much to abuse this one like that, not for a little while anyways!!)

Nitto & Toyo make good A/T tires for pretty cheap. You might want to look into those.

Thanks Tankz400! I thought they matched the look of the truck and being alloy helps save weight. I had 33" Pro Comp Mud terrains with Pro Comp Steel wheels before and these wheels are only .5 pounds heavier each; even with the 35" Mud Terrains.
