I wouldn't. Last I found out, the Mopar filter is nothing but a Fram filter wrapped with the pretty Mopar label.

Speaking of oils, I just wiped the slime off my cap and filled'er up with mobil 1 fully synthetic extended performance "15,000 miles guranteed" or 1 year whichever first. I'm assuming I'll be good for 10 to 15 thousand and change my oil filter every 3k? What do you guys think?

I would think you'll have to be quick to change the filter five times and the oil once. How much is going to drain out when you drop the filter? BTW, I've been using Pennzoil for over twenty years with no sludge build-up or other issues. To the OP, it's just the typical Jiffy Lube rip-off. They likely didn't change the oil or the filter at all. They probably just kept the truck for a while and handed it back (with a hefty bill, of course). Also, THANK YOU for serving.

I'm pretty sure the oil rests in the oil pan below the filter so all that would spill out would be the oil inside the filter.

Had this problem as well, although not really a problem if its cold out and you're doin short trips as stated above. And yeah you should deff change the PCV valve....its 10 bucks. A while ago we hit -45 C where i live and my oil dipstick kept popping out and had some goo on it, i would assume because my PCV valve is toast. And not to mention the huge difference in temp outside and under the hood heheh.
