Need an intake plenum
Had cold temps last week (-22) trouble starting truck. Turns out my intake plenum is cracked and getting throttle position sensor light.
Took a while to diagnose at the dealer but I need an intake plenum and they are on back order. Could take several weeks. Does anyone know where to get ahold of one?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chad

I couldn't find any. Only a few for the 4.7L that were only like $30. How big is the crack? Is it in an easily accessible area? I personally would just take my dremel with an abrasion bit and scuff the crack down. Then squirt some JB weld on it and let it dry.
I had a cracked port on my mustang intake from shipping and JB welded it. It held for the entire time I used it. It was in the coolant passage way too!
I'm sure the dealer would be willing to do that for the time being. You would have to pay for labor though. Maybe an hours worth. Who knows how long Chrysler could be....????
Also, if your intake was cracked, you should have driveability issues like super high idle and stalling.

I like your thinking. JB weld, used it many times, I don't think dealer mechanics think on that line.
Truck was hunting for idle (between 700 - 1800) would not go over 12 MPH, good thing dealer was 2 miles away.
Had no idea what problem was, got the throttle position sensor light, thought it was going to be $50 sensor. Boy was I wrong.
Cracked Intake plenum with undetermined time to get new one.
Economic times have the system all screwed up. People not manufacturing parts like they used too.
