OK... I don't post much but I had to share my heater diverter stealership estimate.

Granted the dampers are cheap. But the true problem is with the actuators. They are open to stall design. The contiuous torque applied to damper shaft eventually causes failure.

I can promise you they didn't put 2 Tech's on it. They never do. They say that so you don't feel like they pulled a fast one and over charged you.
Here's what happened: They put a mechanic on your truck and he fixed it in let's say 4hours. Well, book rate at which Chrysler determines how long it takes to fix that specific problem is 6hours. That's what they charge! 6 hours even if it takes them 3 hours or 12hours. That is how everything is priced by book rate. That is why dealerships don't like installing aftermarket parts because they get paid exactly what they work and cannot go by book rate. That is why they hate doing warranty work because Chrysler cuts their ***** off and shortens the work time so Chrysler only has to pay minimal time to the dealers!
Atleast it's fixed and you just paid what anyone else would that has or will have that fixed at a dealer.

Yeah am pretty sure they didn't put 2 guys on it too... although there were 2 mechs codes on the sheet (not that that means anything)...

But also knew my total was what a couple others here were mentioning, with adjustments for our local rates.

Ya know, the price is the price whether it's ridiculous or not. Sometime's it would show them a little class if they told the truth. Whenever i showed a customer what was wrong with their vehicle/s, I was alwways upfront and honest. They ALWAYS asked for me when they came in for their work for that reason. I've worked the office end as well as Master Tech. Believe me when i say I know what goes on for the entire dealership!...lol

Not to take up for any dealer but, Dodge warranty only pays a tech 1.6 hours to replace a blend door on a truck. That is 1 hour and 36 minutes to remove a dash, steering column and HVAC box. I don't know many techs that can do that. If you have to pay for it yourself, 6 hours is not unreasonable.

Exactly my point! Why should we have to pay 6hours for something that is supposedly rated at 1.6hrs?????
Why, it's because whatever makes the dealership the most money. That's the exact reason they don't do warranty work!
