I drive a 95 stratus that I bought from an auto auction 2yrs ago. It is a 4cyl 5spd w/128kmi and has power nothing. No a/c, and I just swapped out the cassette player for a cd player a few months ago...lol I get 33mpg's, I haven't put any money into it. I only paid $585 including the hammer fee and it had 102kmi when I got it. It starts right up, idles and drives superb. It was a one owner car. They must've got raped on trade-in?
So I drive that POS so I can feel comfy when i go to the store or park in a parking lot and don't have to worry about door dings or scratches. That's why my supposedly $40k truck just sits in the driveway. Smae as my Cobra in the garage. I have owned that car for 4yrs now and only put 2.5kmi on it.

Every six months / 20,000 km I guess. I tried to wash my truck once at a car wash. It is a lot to wash when you include the high cap and take into consideration that it's white! After 10 bucks I left with the truck looking like a zebra. I will wash it again in the summer. The truck's oil sprayed so it'll be okay.

How much do you guys usually spend at the self serve car washes?

Steve

automatic drive thru car wash once a week, its only 5 bucks. then about once a month, take it to a real car wash place that vacuums and armoralls and all that stuff. I work 2 jobs so not alot of time to do it myself.

during winter i take it to the spray washes with the pressure washers.. and do that mebbe once every two weeks or once a week. summertime and spring it gets handwashed 1-2 times a week. winter is hard to really keep a car looking clean it's more about keeping majority of it off the vehicle.
