Default Gas Mileage

I just bought a 2004 1500 4x4... It has the 5.7 liter Hemi V8... The guy I bought it from is in jail,(repossesion) so I havent asked him exactly what mods he has done to the truck... I know it has a K&N cold air intake system and it has been dualed out... I know the filter should increase gas mileage and I am very easy on the pedal..(although all the power which I am not used to is tempting) It also has dual exhausts... I am getting around 11-12 miles per gallon around town... When I bought it I was expecting (hoping) around 15-16... Im not complaining, I love the truck... But is this normal gas mileage and what are you guys getting?
Thanks for the input

you shouldnt have got a truck if your going to worry about mpg's.. doing a good tuneup all around. oil change, all filters changed, tranny flush, diff fluid change will gain some better mpg's but not alot. they best mpg gain i see is when i got my superchips 3815 programmer. i drive my truck hard and still get 14-15 mpgs if i was easy maybe 16. but its not fun to drive it like a grandpa even if it is a truck. without any mods stock i was seeing about the same mileage but driving her easier.

appreciate the response... I knew I would get the "there is a thread already for this" response... Im at work and time on here is limited so I figured it would be easier and less time consuming to just ask and look for responses later... and I am new to this board... again thanks for the imput

I got the truck because I love it and it is bad a$$... Not that Im really worried about gas mileage, but I wanted to know if it was normal for my truck and setup... If it wasnt it would be stupid not to try and inprove it... But yes after having it a week it is getting harder and harder not to here her growl, and get it moving down the road...

our trucks have a drinking problem. alls we can do it instigate it and drive it like we stole it. look around youll soon leanr youll want to start modding that puppy out and wont care about mpgs after you do. get ready for an addiction.
