Default Ram QC Sub box and seat lift!!!! Check it out

Hey everyone. My name is Doug Walker. I am a 3rd Gen. 1500 QC owner. I was tired of the prefab sub box world false advertising air spaces and stereo shops telling me no one makes a good sounding prefab box for a 10" or 12" sub woofer or a dual box for either that really sounds good. On top of that, if you do install one of the crappy sounding boxes, you will lose all of the storage room under the seat because the storage compartments are full of the speaker box and can not be used any more. I have developed a prefab box and a lift kit for the rear seat that has enough air space for that low teeth rattling bass and a more comfortable seating position for the passengers. Most of the prefab boxes on the market only have around .35 cubic feet. They advertise .55 or .65 cubic feet of airspace, but that is using the exterior dimension not the interior dimensions. I designed this system for a single sub and gives .90 cubic feet. Most sub companies 10" or 12" recommend .55 to 1 cubic feet. The closer to 1 cubic feet the better the sub will work. This is designed for a shallow mount sub. The ones I know for a fact will work is the Pioneer, Pioneers Premier line and the Sony Xplode shallow mount. Any sub that uses 3-3/8" or less mounting depth. These are pics. Of the prototype. The actual production boxes will be covered in gray or black carpet. The Seat risers will be painted black and had end caps on them I am waiting for some of the final pieces to put into production and will post pics. Of the finished product as soon as they come in. The first production unit will be available on ebay around 02-05-09. My email is drw33079@gmail.com email me if you would like a pricing list and how to let me know if you want to order one. I will also send out pics. Of the finished product to everyone who asks for them later in the next couple of weeks. I will start out taking orders then posting them on ebay. When the posting is going to be listed for your item I will send out an email to the individual who made the order. These kits will be made to order in the beginning and then a full blown web site for this product and full blown production will be put into place. Email me with any questions or coments regarding this new product. Email me with any questions or coments regarding this new product. I can email more pics. It would not upload any more pics. I would like everyone to take a few minutes to check this out and send me an email to my personal email listed above for feed back. So far I have had really good feed back on other forums.
Thanks, Doug Walker.

I made my custom box myself. I was able to achieve 1.0cu/ft per subwoofer and still have 2" from sub to bottom of the seat clearance. Total cost to build was around $50. The seat didn't have to be lifted at all! You need to be careful on lifting the frame since the seatback is held by sliding down into channels in the back. If lifted too high (no more than 1") the seat will come off the tracks and fall forward. I avoided that all together.

Pieces all laid out

I put one screw in each piece to hold them in place and then glued each piece one by one and then put it back it the truck to secure the wood with more screws once it took the actual shape of the floor. ( first I marked the floow with a marker and ran a heavy bead of Liquid nails to glue the box down to the truck and seal up any possible air leaks

I used liquid nails and l-brackets to secure to the floor. The liquid nails sealed up the box super tight from any air leaks. I then covered the whole inside of the box with Dynamat to suppress vibration and rattle through out the cab. Worked great. (yes I fixed the carpet by the seat bracket..lol)

damn dirtydog that is so nice wanna come do mine for me lol . I wish i could do stuff like that instead i think im just going to have to settle for some really nice 6x9's under the back seat. I'm thinking i might leave the cords on them really long to so that when im camping i just just take the speakers out and sit them on the top of my truck. We're always struggling to hear the music good while camping so i think that should work really well for me .
