Question Which size?

I am looking to buy Magnaflow mufflers for my 08 Hemi. How do I know which size muffler I need? How do I know if I want the pipes exiting the muffler on the same side or opposite sides? I am planning on going the true dual route, getting ready to buy a set of Edlebrock shorty headers. Should I go with a different brand or is this one ok? I appreciate any input you can give me.

wow. loaded question. depends on what size pipes you want to run. but I think the magnaflow decision is a great one!

are you going to run a single outlet on each side or a dual outlet?

well the shorter the louder. the 14 inch would be the loudest. the 18 and 22 inch are very tame, very low light rumble.

I have read on some of the treads about the size of pipes and I want the size that will give me the most power i cant remember what the exact size gave me the best power i would have to search the forum for that.

I am not sure what single outlet on each side or dual outlet is, this is my first truck and first exhaust.

single is single in and single out. so one pipe going in and one pipe coming out. the single in and dual out. is just that a single pipe coming in and then 2 pipes coming out ( most people call this fake duals, but thats what the majpority of people do). if you want true duals, get some headers ( keep the stock catscause they are already a high flow cat) then mid pipes to 2 mufflers ( each single in and single out) then exit the pipes out how ever youd like. do you want loud or just really tame? the 14 inch will be the loudest but still isnt crazy loud, the 18 inch is nice rumble over stock and the 22 is almsot no sound at idle and a very light light rumble. if i were doing it i would get the 2 14 inch si/so muffs. or i would look into their race series mufflers and down to a short canister 10-12 inch muff, but i just like it really really loud

Thanks for the info. Does it matter where the pipes (coming off the muffler) are at on the muffler? Should they be on the same side or opposite sides? What is is/so mufflers? I like loud. I think I will look into the race series.

Do you think edlebrock headers are a good way to go?
