Default torsion bar Q?

My truck drives fine but in the back of my mind I keep worrying something isn't exactly right with my tb's.

I first tried to level my truck by cranking the adjuster and even with them tightened all the way it was not level. I then installed a leveling kit and it helped but still not level. I then saw that the "L" and "R" with the arrow may be in the wrong position. I then put the letters in the lower control arm instead of at the keys. With this it setup it does sit level but the adjuster bolts are turned all the way up.

I know that most people can get the front even higher than the back with the stock keys.

Where are the letters supposed to go? Also, how hard are they usually to install? I did mine with just a "C" clamp...

not sure what you're asking here...but i'll try to answer.

if you have a key lift installed, i can't really see you putting them in wrong. they shouldn't be side specific, but rather need to be oriented correctly on the T-bar.

i don't have a lift on my truck, but i have the bars cranked up and still have a bit of the bolt showing, so i could go a little higher. not sure if the front is exactly level with the back, but it looks good to me.

so again, what is your question? what brand kit did you install?

your new key ways, as stated above, have to be aligned the right way with the torsion bar. When i installed mine, (2.5"), there were two positions that i could slide them on at. The first was a very mild position (not the corrrect), and without putting any torque on it, the key sat inside the crossmember. The other way, looked quite extreme. Thats why they tell you to lift the truck off the ground.

My driver side key is torqued more than the other, because thats seems to be the way my truck leans. Dont necessarily depend on the amount of threads showing and the bolts. Go level by measuring tape. Get the approximate height you want, then measure and level side to side. test drive, cause they will settle, then measure again. I drove and measured mine 4 times.

good luck

good point on the keys, i guess they aren't side dependent, but it would make a difference if he didn't put them on at the correct angle to begin with, thereby taking all that lift out of the equation.

i guess it would help if we knew what brand and if they were 2" or 2.5".

I have helper spring in the rear of my truck, and with 2.5" keys, i can barely get the truck .5" taller in the front, after the truck settled. But the keys are just about all the way cranked... almost. never crank torsions all the way with aftermarket keys.

I have the truxxx leveling kit, but as stated it didnt even get level with the stock keys.

The "L" and "R" i'm refering to is on the tb itself. Does that go to the key or the lower control arm? I'm concerned that the tb's are in backwards.

What have yall been installing them with?
