changed my oil today......1 qt. low? new engine thoughts...

well I dont think im burning or leaking any oil...although there is 115K on her....it hasnt smoked yet...but I was a qt low today when I changed my oil? so I got to thinking....if I were to put a new engine in here what could I put in it....6.1? or what? I know it's waaay too early but hey, it was sturing in my head.....would the new hemi in the 09's work? Im just exploring ideas....oh i use royal purple 5w20 bout every 4K and K&N filiter

1 qt every 4k isn't anything i'd worry about....especially if you run her hard or don't let her warm up properly in the morning.

yeah thats very normal...wouldnt worry bout it till it gets to being a couple quarts within 3K

As stated above...not a big deal. But... put her away wet everytime you go out and play and she'll start using more oil. Crank seals and oil pan gaskets hate dirt hahah.

Normal man, dont worry. I was also looking into a 6.1L swap but finding the electronics and such to work is the PITA. Also its very cost prohibitive @ 10k. This includes upgraded tranny etc. and you doing your own work. You would need upgraded brakes suspension... the list goes on and that 10k was for a slightly used parts not brand new.

yeah, that loss at that mileage is perfectly normal. Prolly a little seepage going on through a gasket or two. Either leaking out over the outside of the engine or even onto a cylinder wall and getting burned. Nothing to worry about yet at all, just something to kinda monitor down the road...
