DO NOT USE GEICO! i dont really know what it is that makes geico so popular. is it their lame commercials? or is geico the only insurance company people know of? Trust me on these next few lines my wife does this for a living....:

I can guarantee you, yes, guarantee you that you can get a better rate from either one of these companies: Travelers, USAA, Met Life, and Liberty Mutual. YOU WILL GET A BETTER RATE WITH ONE OF THESE COMPANIES AND YOUR RATES ARE FIXED (unless you get a DUI or multiple driving offenses of course).
Geico sucks. period. actually from the results my wife has shown me, geico and allstate are the worse. go figure as they are the ones with the most commercials as how they can save you money lol.

WOW I guess this was a great topic lol... Thanks for all the replies....

I was with Progressive for the last 17 years with only one claim in that time..... an accident caused by my wife....

With two vehicles on my progressive policy..... A Dodge ram of some sort (I'm on my 6th Ram) and my wifes vehicle which is usually an SUV..... My policy was never more then $500 per 6 months....

Last June I bought the 2004 Mercury and Progressive jacked up my rate $470 to $990 for 6 months...... and thats with a clean driving record.
They said it was because I have three vehicles and two drivers so the third vehicle is rated the highest with no assigned driver..... Hog Wash!!!!! What does that have to do with it?

So after 17 yrs with Progressive I got a Geico quote and Geico was $400 cheaper then Progressive with the same three vehicles so I switched.....

My Policy last 6 month term with Geico was $600 something for three vehicles all with full coverage 500 deductible.... I just got my renewal and it is now $800 something for 6 lousy months same coverages.....

I'm really sick of insurance companies..... I should have just stayed with Progressive... They never raised my rates on renewal...... Just when my wife had the one claim.....

I pay a little over $180 a month for full coverage + expanded new car protection for my Ram. This last renewal period, my rates went down about $8 a month. This was after a claim for my totaled 07 Ram. They gave me nearly $27,000 for the truck, which had a pay-off of only $20,000. I am insured with Allstate, so thus far I have no complaints. They have been the cheapest of all quotes I got.

I can't wait until my truck and I age further so our insurance can go down!

Go somewhere else.

You know what else I like to do, although I do not know if you can do this with Geico.... Go in their website and quote the exact same insurance, but as Joe Blow new customer, you may be surprised at the difference. I had Progressive a long time ago and got money back in a class action law suit due to how they bring you in with cheap rates and raise after that.

I have All State. I insure all three of the cars below (Not the Silver Ram peaking around the corner, that is gone) for less than $800 a 1/2. State Farm was actually even cheaper than that, but I saved on my house insurance and over all switching to All State.

I appreciate all the suggestions.....

I'm going to go in and see what others will cost me.....

I already tried Liberty Mutual as they have had my house for years but they were outrageous... Like $2300 a year.

I really need to find something cheaper or I'm going to have to eliminate a vehicle all together.... With my wife getting laid off in October I can't afford $800 something on the 28th of this month.....

Thanks everyone!

Geez TankZ, you should shop around. I'm at $76/mo just for my Ram and was going to switch for only $53/mo. Full Coverage 250 deductibles and my coverage is top notch, not bare bones 50k

USAA is great for military, former military and family members of military. In North Carolina I pay $140/month for full coverage for a 2006 Ram 1500 SLT HEMI and a 2005 Mustang, along with renters insurance. And I'm only 20.
