umm if i remember from the hella instructions it says that what ever you are installing your lights in the high beam is the middle wire but, i didnt believe that. so.. wow you should really go spend the $20 and get a new volt meter.
i just wired mine up direct so i could flip em on and off with the switch but now i wish i would have integrated them with the highbeams.
sorry im no help here......ive had a couple vodka and mt.dew's

With my 08, I couldn't locate a power source for the high beams. Here is what I found with my voltmeter.

Low beam = 3 wires (1 ground, 2 hot on low)
High beam = 3 wires (1 ground, 1 hot on high)

Ground wire never changes, no way to get a power source from the high beams as both wires are hot on low, and one is hot on high.

I ended up wiring directly and have a switch which I can use anytime, although not what I wanted I couldn't find anyone else with an 08 that did it differently

When I instaled my PIAA's my switch had three wires 1 hot to bat, 1 neg to bat and 1 hot to high beams. But I did not run to high beams I ran it to the cigar fuse in the fuse block then when ever the ACC is turned on they will swithch on and off. Works fine for me.

double-check all of your connections. I cannot recall which wire they indicate to run to the high beams but if this is a positive connection with anything (battery, Cig lighter, etc.) and then you finish the wiring as indicated it should work. The power from the high-beam is only the power for switching the relay on/off so your other direct power should already be connected to the battery. Verify you are on the positive wire of the cig lighter?
