alternator going out?

my voltage guage will surge below the medium when heater is on.....and when the heater is off or rev engine the guage goes back to normal. still the stock one so Im guessn so

How's the response on other high-current stuff, like headlights or air conditioning? Maybe the blower motor resistor block is going away.
