Where on the motor is the camshaft sensor location on 2003 RAM 1500 v8. codes show I need to replace it...

4.7 or Hemi? I'm assuming since you didn't call it a Hemi, it's the 4.7.

Right below the front right side valve cover on the side of the head.

Yes, It is a 4.7 motor. would it be under the compressor? I guess I need to reach it from underneath??

i know in the hemi, you can get to it from the top, its right under(inside) the alternator bracket, surprisingly easy, look there on the 4.7, though this may not be any help.
