Hey Ya'll, i got a problem with my dad's '05 ram 1500 HEMI. The key doesn't turn, the steering wheel isn't locked, and the door ajar light is one when all the doors are closed but key is inserted. tried both keys.

 

Disconnect the battery for a couple minutes, then reconnect and try again. MAybe that will reset it.

 

Do you have your foot on the brake peddle all the way.?

 

had hunters tow it to the dealer- they said they shot some silicone in it, which, helped, but it locked up again 30 minutes later, so they pulled the lock mechanism out, it was broke apart in the column. Should have it back sometime soon they said.

 

Thank goodness it wasn't anything serious.

 

yea, my dad has another run to plano tomorrow plus double duty since he couldn't make any runs today...the truck only has 2500 miles on it...we've owned it how long?

 

That was such a freak thing to happen. I've never heard of one falling apart on a new vehicle.

 

well it happened on our dually too (see sig), but we decided not to repair it since start was the only position not working (acc, on, ect worked). So now it has push button ignition. Can't do that on these newfangled vehicles.
