on the subject of tinting my tails, does anyone know whether i could leave the lights on my truck and paint it then with VHT night shades. i would of course the cover the area around it. how hard is it to remove and put back on my taillights, i havent really looked. also i just paint the outside of the lens and leave the casing all together, right?
Pulling the tails out is pretty easy, drop your tailgate and look.
Personal opinion: id paint the grille surround body color and leave the teeth of the grille chrome. Not many people have your grille as it is...just 1 more thing to make you stand out a bit more. Just my .02

im thinking about that too ever since you first suggested it. just not sure about the price though. if i do that, i want to paint the whole front black too (bumper, bumper cover and grill surround) and maybe also the rear bumper. im not sure how the prices will run if i take to a paint shop

does it fit an 08? i think it might since the bumpers really have changed much. i think it would be cheaper just to paint my bumper than to buy a cover and then paint it. also im not sure how it would look on my truck and match the grill i already have. i already made the mistake of buying a hood scoop and realizing when i got it that it didnt fit with the rest truck. i saw it on an all body color truck pre 05 like raiderjays old truck and thought it looked nice but then on my 08 with vertical grill, it was a no go

read the description on the bumper cover...it fits our trucks. As for the scoop, im NOT a fan of them. You have it, you like it. Try something old school and paint it semigloss black and slap it on!

ill wait and see how everything goes. right now im going to get windows tinted darker (right now they are legal which is about 35% to make it 20%) and my back window 5%which has i think right now has just the factory tint, then im going to tint my tails and if all goes well, im buying some black headlights. i think roughly for all this is going to run around $300.

I wouldnt tint the back window any more than it is....makes it way to hard to see whats happening at night. Not seeing is a fact, what you can deal with is up to you.

so you think i shouldnt tint my back 5%. what about 20% all around the truck. right now i dont think its even 35% because they are lighter than my side windows and i asked a local tint shop and they said it looks it has the factory green glass. they do look darker than other trucks i see with no tint but thats only because i have my side windows tinted which makes the cab already darker.
see here is a pic of my side windows. sorry i dont have a pic my back window but they at most almost the same depending on the day

btw, i talked to tint shop and they said they can tint over the existing 35% tint with another 35% and it should make a 20% tint and the same goes for the back window. just add a 20% to make it maybe a 5%. all this for $125. opinion?

Id go 20% rear 35% the rest. Simply my thoughts....it may look good all black, but try driving at night. Makes a big difference. Some people can deal with the BS trying to adapt. I for 1, cannot. Not being able to see is a big deal to me. Thats just me.
