put on new exahuast on my 08 hemi and it sounds crappy with that MDS. if i would've known it was going to sound bad i wouldn't have put it on.

any suggestions on what to do or what to replace it with

That's the exact reason that I'm having problems deciding what to do with my '07 MDS HEMI. I really want different exhaust, but I'm scared of how bad it will sound. On the other hand, I'm not really sure how often the MDS kicks in.

Superchips or Diablosport hand held programmers will block out the MDS from functioning aswell as increasing your mileage and boosting power. Do you like the sound of your set up while it is in V8 mode. If yes then just fork over the dough for a programmer and you will be set.

 

The best way to get around that putting sound is when you are driving around town, city streets, turn the overdrive off. That will turn off that damn MDS. When on the freeway though, turn the overdrive on. My plan is to get the Diablo Predator, you can disable the MDS with it and don't have to worry about turning on and off the overdrive.

 

Did you take the resonator off? Putting it back on will help a lot and/or get a programmer like the other guys said.

 

i had a Vortex cherry bomb installed....also will putting it on void out the warranty?.

 

linerjoe the MDS kicks on alot and trust me it get really annoying. And quiet honestly don't want to keep turning on and off the OD.
i like the way it sounds when its a V8 so ill probably just get the programer or try to put the origonal back on

 

What muffler did you use? Tha magnaflow sounds good with the MDS.

 

I concor with peddler. Magnaflow muffler sounds fine with MDS. It just goes to a quiet 'hum' when on, which is plesent when driving distances.
