Default leveling ?

I want to level my 05 QC 4x4. Most everybody on here just says to turn up the torison bars. A couple of people tells me that doing that it bows in the top of the tires. Is that true? Also If I put in leveling keys does that bow the tires as well? I hear that the keys are the same as turning up the torsion bars.

As far as putting tension on the torsion bars, cranking and keys are pretty much the same, maybe a bit stiffer by cranking alone, but not much difference.
Yes, any change to the angle of any suspension component will throw the tires out of alignment. Therefore it is necessary to have the truck aligned, no matter what method you use to raise the suspension... The only lift that does NOT require an alignment is a body lift, because it does not change any component angles...

So putting in leveling keys will make the tires bow.

Putting in keys is the same as cranking the torsion bars, which both cause the tires to look like this when looking at the truck from the front: \--/. You will need an alignment once leveled.

The biggest difference in cranking your torsion bars, and putting keys in is the height level. With my torsion bars cranked I could only get 38" out of the front. With my keys I can achieve up to 41.5".

Either way can create an uneven wear on your tires, IF AN ALIGNMENT IS NOT DONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER.

Crank em, get an alignment, enjoy. Later, when you go to buy new tires, spend $150 bucks extra, get key ways, and be happy...
