I have a 2005 1/2ton w/ 5.7 Hemi and I would to know what is its towing capacity is?

The reason I ask is there is a toyhauler that I'm looking at getting and its a smoking deal and I cant get a bigger truck and toy hualer at the same time.toyhualer total weight is 11,400 also its a 5th wheel...I dont want to have to my brother-in-law to use his ford F-250

Way over the safe towing capacity of a half ton, anybody's half ton.

You might can get away with it by upgrading to 4.56 gears, air bags, brake controller and bigger tranny pan with cooling fins and higher fluid capacity. I think the Hemi can handle it and the gears will help the engine and transmission tremendously. But still, your mileage will suck and you'll wear out driveline and suspension components much faster than normal...

You can also be ticketed for being overweight and it'll be obvious to the cops if you're towing a 5th wheel with a 1/2 ton.

Between 7K and 9K lbs depending on how your truck is set up.

I think you'd be nuts to even consider hauling that kinda weight without air bags, especially since you can get a good set of Air Lifts for not much over $200 if you don't mind filling them manually (which takes all of about 20 seconds)...

And Hoss brings up an excellent point, you tow over rated capacity, you'll get ticketed and I've know where the cops have made guys unhook, right there at the side of the road and have to make arrangements for a safe tow vehicle to come get it...

You know if there should be a sticker on the door or some where on the truck that would tell me?

Thank you for the input I'm going to look for a smaller toy hauler that the truck can handle.
