Default please help me diagnose my annoying rattling in the front end

my 07 dodge ram has been rattling/popping in the drivers side front end for the last few months and it's drivin me nutz. I lubed all the plastic/rubber hood and grille mounts and also removed them with no luck. Tonight i popped the hood and was jumping on the front bumper compressing the suspension up and down, it was making a popping noise towards the midway of suspension travel. So i unbolted the shock and lowered the truck, compressing the suspension again it didn't make this noise now. Sprayed the crap out of the shock pivot points with lithium grease and bolted it back down tight, but after all that it still makes the damn popping sound, does this mean my shock is done or what

probably true, it was normally only doin it once every couple weeks, now every time out it pops/clunks. Tryin to diagnose it a bit beore i take it to the dealer just to hear them say "the truck runs fine, no problems what so ever with the suspension"
