Why is it...
Compensating? The only area a car beats a truck is in fuel economy, in every other way a truck is more useful and more practical than any car. Period.
Let's compare a Honda Civic to a Dodge Ram:
Seat 6 comfortablely? Ram yes, Civic no
Tow a trailer? Ram yes, Civic no
Haul cargo? Ram yes, Civic no
Useful off road? Ram yes, Civic no
Pull another vehicle? Ram yes, Civic no

I think the funniest thing about the chevy commercials is that it only says it has better fuel economy but when you look at the bottom it ties ford for 21mpg highway (didn't see anything about the dodge on the bottom of the screen though)
They don't go after Dodge actually because Ford is the big known name. Ford is their bigger rival, not Dodge. If you want a raise over your biggest rival at work, would you talk about the flaws in mainly him or someone else? You'd go after the rival of course. The Tundra also because some people now think for some reason that a mini truck that suddenly went big is so great.

yeah i have buddy's that say the same thing about over compensating, but then i ask why they have such fast cars. end result the shut the hell up. plus i can go off road and my truck still rides better down the road than there damn sports cars.
You can't say anything about the heated steering wheel, because Dodge did steal some ideas from them. Dual climate control, ever heard of that? Chevy had that first, introduced in 2003. In 2004 when Dodge redid the interior a little bit, they added some things, such as steering wheel mounted audio controls which Chevy added before that on their trucks. So stealing is out of the picture.
