Default Nerf Bar question

This guy in my area is selling nerf bars from his quad cab. They are cheap so I am thinking of buying them. but I need to know a few things before i decide. He does not have brackets so could I buy any old nerf bar mounting kit or would it have to be specific to the brand of nerf bars?? Is this a bad idea? Any advice would be appreciated. here is the link.

Cheap bars, but wonder why the brackets are not included?
I would bet they are brand specific.

Once you find out the brand you could probably contact the manufacturer and order brackets...or check ebay. Guess that would be up to you.

It's just me but I would rather have all the parts with the tubes and not have to try and find the brackets.

Good luck

My personal opinion, is dont get them. Unless you have trouble getting into your truck. I personally do not like the look of the bars, makes your truck look like a low rider. I would prefer the ground clearance/appearance without. But to answer your question, most bars are made differently, and you would need to contact the manufacturer to get the proper brackets.

theres a link to some pics i took of my mounts. Mine are made by TrailFX, but look similar to those. with the studs on the ends of the tubes, looks like yours would mount the same way. Mine are extremely sturdy compared to some other ones I have seen out there. I would maybe call Keystone or Westin and see if they sell the mounting kits before I bought the steps though.

$40? Worst case senario you lose $40 man. Buy those things. Hell, if I lived nearby I'd go buy them out from under you. :-)

I don't agree with moosefire either. fiberglass boards would be different. I would buy em and make it work. whether you have someone fab something up, or are able to buy a kit i would go for it.

I dont mean that its scraping the ground and on air bags, it just makes it look a lot lower. I took mine off almost immediately.
