Valvoline MaxLife ATF Flush
I went to a auto shop around me, the only one I even still like anymore. I asked for a tranny flush, standard price as all the other shops around me. I asked if they could put ATF+4 in for me. I drive a '04 1500 QCSB 5.7l with automatic trans. They said that Valvoline Maxlife ATF is compliant with ATF+4. All the other shops said this as well. I argued and argued and finally gave in and said ok do the Valv Maxlife ATF. I check their online site and they kind of say it supports ATF+3 and ATF+4, but the spec sheet of the oil doesn't have it listed.
Here is the spec sheet: http://www.valvoline.com/products/Maxlife%20ATF.pdf
My question is, why do they then have the Valvoline ATF+4. Is this MaxLife a more durable grade? I just get that bad feeling that the spec sheet of the Maxlife ATF doesn't specifically say ATF+4.
Any thoughts from anyone? Should I be concerned? Should I try to get it flushed again? Or is it completely fine and I am paranoid? I am just hoping that it is fine, because if not that means I have no shops I trust around me anymore due to bad experiences.
Thanks

I do not think that Dexron and Mercon are compatable with the Dodge tranny...I don't know everything that's for sure, but I would be more comfortable if it said ATF+4 and didn't say Dexron and Mercon. The sheet says recommended for most, not all.
Hope someone else can chime in...

I went through this for my Mustang tranny because Mobil 1 didn't have Dextron III since GM don't support the label standards of III anymore. I put in Mercon V and it was supposedly compatible with all the others. It's newly formulated. Wipes out all the others.
