new noise
5.7 hemi 06 2500 70,000 km.
Sound's like my harmonic balancer is making a ratteling noise, the fan belt is tight and in good condition, the best way I can describe the niose is that it sound's like a water water pump squeal at idle, starting to do do this on start up, once engine is warm, sound dosent go away.
I'm not convinced the water pump is going, just using that sound to compare my new noise with.
I have all the famous hemi engine ticks ...

the best thing i could say is take it to a shop have them tell you what is wrong, then go home. if you are mechanicaly inclined and think you can do it take care of it your self. I do this alot when i cant figure out what is wrong or where a noise is coming from.

My 04 4.7 did this, I know different motors, different years. However I developed a water leak, and discovered it was the water pump bearing. Water pump had to be replaced... Sounding like angry sparrows...
