antifreeze leak

Default antifreeze leak

my truck is sing antifreeze..have to fill up the resivoir every week or so...cant see tht it is leaking anywhere, and was wondering if there was any way to test the oil without daining it to ssee if it is getting in there?

Is the oil milky? That would be an indication of coolant into the oil. It can also be an indication of a bit too much condensation. Most likely it's the water pump, though. Is there no weeping just below the pulley? If you grip the fan, can you move it side-to-side/up & down?

the oil seemed to be alright just by looking at it on the dipstick....havent checked the water pump...but couldnt see anything just by looking at it...i will check it first thing tomorrow

on my 04 with 58000 mi, i was noticing a slight drop in coolant level. couldnt find a leak anywhere though. took it to the dealer for somethin else and they said radiator was bad, put one in under warranty, and no more leak. i only mention that becuase i never had a puddle or obvious signs of a leak, but the radiator was still bad somehow and losing coolant.

i checked the fan today and it oesnt have any play in it..i did notice on of the lines was wet..but it wasnt from the rdiator...it was from the little radiator looking thing that is mounted n front of the radiator at the very bottom...dont know what it is or if it has anything to do with coolant though
