wiring of lights
I have a set of kc daylights behind the grille with 150watt lights on a seperate switch to turn them on/off whenever I want. I have just bought another set of hella ff50 lights with 150watt bulbs. Now my question is I want the ff50 lights to come on with my fog lights, I checked redrams write up on how to wire recon backup lights in the FAQ section but will these lights with the 150watt bulbs do anything if i tie them into my fog lights? will the 150watt draw too much to wire them that way?. I'm going to be talking with an electrician about this just thought id give it a shot here.

as Long as you use a relay and only using the power wire to the fog lights as the trigger then no you would not be drawing to much on the fog lights. I would not try just running the Hella's chained off the driving lights that would be to much draw. I would also check your local law enforcement about numer of forward lights alloud on the road. Hope this helps
^ I agree. If you just tap them into the fog light wires, you will either burn up your switch or possibly the wires. They cannot handle the load. I added aftermarket reverse lights, and I used a relay and a 3-way switch to control them. With the switch in the down position, they will come on when the factory lights come on. When they are in the middle they are off, and up is off of battery power, so you can use them whenever you want. I would suggest that. It seems to work pretty good for me.

What they said. Properly installed you should have no problems. Use the voltage to the fogs to trigger the low side of the relay (with about a 3A fuse) and the high side of the relay to switch the battery to the KCs (with a 25A or so fuse). All that photon output may slow the truck down, though.
