Default question about Tow/Haul mode

I know what the two words mean but my question is what does it actually do for the motor and trans, are there any RPM differences and is the MDS disabled when using this? what else does it do and does it use more fuel using it ? and will it hurt anything if I was to use it all the time .

as far as i know, it changes the gear timing in the transmission so that it doesnt shift until a higher rpm, and it doesnt use OD on the highway.
