I was thinking about getting HIDs for my truck, but I want to get projectors too. All of the projectors I've seen come with halogen bulbs. Some of the projectors I’ve found say not for use with HIDs, since they are longer than halogen bulbs and can melt the projector lens. And the others dont say anything about HIDs, so I'm not sure about those, if they are compatible with HIDs or not. And also, all the projectors I’ve seen have the halos around the lights, which personally I don’t like. Does anyone know if there are any projector headlights for the 06-08 Rams that are made for HIDs, preferably without the halos?

 

Someone correct me if I am wrong. 2 bulbs in these projectors off ebay and such, 1 for standard lights and then the second that turns on when brights are needed. The brights bulb is the one that is placed in the projection part of the housing. This means that if you place HID's in the standard housing and leave the halogens in the projector housing you should be fine.

I have projectors on my truck, but never really took a close look at the layout of the bulbs.

 

The reason I want the projectors is to reduce glare and focus the beam, so I don’t blind people as I’m driving. That is the reason all vehicles that come stock with HIDs have projectors. And if I put the HID bulb in the high beam of the projector, than that would be the same as if I used the stock headlight housing.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, but damn $700, I don't know if I want HIDs that badly.

 

Yeah, I know, but I don't want to be an a****** and blind other people.

 

Why not get HID's for your fogs, That way when you need the extra light you can flip them on, Otherwise you can leave em off when you risking blinding others.

With that said can anyone point me to HID kit that fit our fogs?

 

I have 6000K HIDs in my fogs and head lights and I had a buddy drive the other direction of me to see if they blind him and he said no so you can still have HIDs and not blind people.
