Exclamation Question for those who've removed heads off of 4.7l Ram?

I'm replacing my passenger side head gasket and have run into a problem that hopefully I can get around. The manual calls for "Special Tool 8515 to Hold Chains to Idler Sprocket". I don't really want to purchase an $80 tool to use once, nor do I want to be without my truck any longer than I have to.

Is there any way I can make this all work without this "special" tool? If so, please help me out!

Thanks!

There is a step by step guide to installing cams in a 4.7 in the FAQ section, which I believe outlines how to fasten the chain to the sprocket with zip ties, complete with pics. I believe you want to look closely at the illustration for step #3.

Thanks for the reply!

That link is what I'm referencing to install my HO cams, but the tool above is for attaching the secondary timing chains to the main chain (I have the timing chain cover off).
