Nah they're not going to give us a extra day to the seniors because we have a set graduation date. But for the under class men thats a different story.

It's about time some of you other guys got some of this crap! My backyard has had at least 4 " covering it since november. Nasty winter for sure. I think it's a balmy 9 degrees out right now.

Anyone that wants snow, come and get some. We've still got a while to go and we're already 3 feet more than average for the entire winter. I'm ready for spring.

We get paid 12 months out of the year so a snow day doesn't add any additional pay days to our year.

Your school systems are setup wrong, or you're talking about them wrong. Here, they figure I believe four snow days into the year, so we never have to make up school. Or what they've done before is added two minutes onto our day so they can add a day off to the schedule.
And those of you who have extra snow, send it my way, just not on Spring Break.

Well we have 5 days "built in" but they still have to make up days. For example if we had no snow days, they might get out June 15. If they use all 5, they get out 5 school days later. In any case, schools in Mass need 180 days of classes.
The problem this year is that we had a massive ice storm in December, and some places lost power for nearly 2 full weeks. Thousands of trees were knocked down causing blocked roads and damage to houses. That caused them to cancel school for over half of December, because after the two weeks it was time for winter vacation. On top of that, we've had a lot of bad snow storms, causing even more days to be lost because the plows can't get the snow off the roads, parking lots, and sidewalks early enough to allow the kids to get to school on time safely. At this point, some school systems have had 20 missed days. It's by no means typical - it's been a rough winter.

Whether we use none or 5 snow days, we always get out on May 21. Any more than that, then we have to stay later.
