08 has a different Cat converter supplier and the exhaust system is different because it doesn't have the front resonator like most 07-back do. The cat-backs are also different for the 08 vs 06/07. Still waiting for Magnaflow to come up with the revised kit for my 08.
So if you do the headers, Finish the exhaust and you will be fine.

With that said, I live in Springfield, Mo, We do have visual inspection here but not smog. I asked not 1, but 3 seperate inspection stations if I would have issues passing inspection with longtubes on my truck. Everyone of them said that as long as there were Cat's, Mufflers and O2 sensors and no leaks that I would pass inspection. One did say that a CEL would fail me, But I don't want to do it if I have a CEL anyways.
Also, though I should mention that alot of the inspection stations around here don't know what they are talking about.

I have no idea what a cat converter supplier is. My plan was to do header into mufflers, no cats, no resonators. So it looks like I can go with shorty right now, or wait for someone to come out with long tubes. I am so inpatient that I will probably go with shorties. Shorties will still help some what accompained by mufflers right? Or should I just stick with what I have?

I have a feeling every where is gonna be like that, unfortunatley for me I dont want to put cats back on. I was hoping to run true dual into magna flow mufflers. Maybe I need to regroup and think this over again.................................
thanks for the info I will contact pcae setter about it, as far as inspections go WA state doesnt do them, I just have to be sure not to get caught in Cali. Again thanks
I doubt you'll get caught here since you're not smogging in CA. Sometimes law enforcement will get a bug up their *** with check points/looking at mods when you're already pulled over but they usually leave trucks alone. You can blame it all on the ricers
Thanks for the info I am gonna do some calling this weekend and see if I can get 06 or 07 headers on my truck, if so I think I will have it made. I will post when I get an update, for other 08 owners that are looking to do the same thing.
