Question Dual Cat back exhaust Issue?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or has any ideas. I am planning on getting a Magnaflow exhaust for my 07 Hemi Ram 1500 QC 4X4. I would like to do a dual out the rear exhaust, but the issue is that i do tow a boat in which i put a large mudflap accross the back that hangs from the reese hitch. I need to use this mudflap to protect my investment from the various road debris i encounter while towing. I don't see a way without some modification of the mudflap that i can even consider the dual rear exit exhaust for my truck.

To describe this mudflap it is one solid heavy rubber mudflap that hangs like a curtain below the rear bumper from the reese hitch. I contemplated modifying it to incorporate the tips of the exhaust but i am starting to wonder if this will be feasible.

I may just have to consider the single side exit like my factory exhaust is.
I definitely want to stick with the magnaflow exhaust. As i understand it doesn't matter performance wise with a cat back exhaust if u go with single or dual exit. Exit options are purely cosmetic when dealing with a cat back exhaust. Please correct me if i'm wrong on this!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Jeremy

What about something like this. Still getting a magnaflow with dual tips but exits infront of the rear tire.

i have dual exits behind the tires,,and ya it would cake the mud on with a hot exhaust and i got some smaller mudflaps but unfortunately, its still finding a way to hit my tips so i just painted my tips flat black to match the truck!

by the way weedahoe.....those tailights actually looks bad a** first time ive seen them!

you can go with a dual kit that exits behind each rear tire on an angle. a few aftermarket companies make that sort of kit. I think it looks real sharp on our trucks

Talking Thanks guys!!

I appreciate all the info guys! New to the site and i can see you guys are a wealth of information. Not to mention i am jealous of some of the trucks on here. I'm just getting started with my mods on my truck. I just put on my K&N CAI and i love the sound i get without the resonator on there.

I got an exhaust place by me so i will have to stop in and ask if they can bend me a couple pipes to make it exit behind each rear tire.

Thanks again!!!!!!

You'll like the angles exit better while launching the boat anyway. I had a bass boat until recently and used to submerge the tail pipes out the back every once in a while on the steeper ramps or when lakes were well below full pool and I'd have to drop the tailer off the end of the concrete to get the boat to float. That couple extra feet will do wonders for that issue when launching/trailering the boat sometimes...
