Default Replacing the 4.7 with Hemi Question

I found a Hemi for sale locally with no miles on it, it was a drop out for the 6.1L. The problem is it's out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He is selling it with the wiring, ECM, Trans and TC for $2,000. Will anything work in my 03 Ram other than the motor? It's out of a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

That's an ambitious project. Should fit, but motor mounts, front springs, etc, etc.? Lotsa work for little return. Still, if you have the know-how, could be a fun project. The PCM and TCM are different. Separate systems in the '03, same system in an '06.

Well I have two options right now, I have a perfectly good truck with a bad motor and I could just throw in a 4.7L again and still not have the desired power to tow, or I could take on this project for not much more money. I'm wondering if I put in one of the comp cams also if it would hurt to tow with it? Any idea? So I would need an ECM and TCM out of an 03 Hemi then most likely? Hmmm...I wish there was a good how to on here. I know people have done it, I found a good write-up for Dakotas.

i know a bunch of people that put the rams 5.7 in their jeep wanglers and it fits very snug. so u should check out the jeep forums and such to see how they do it. and i know u can buy a kit specificly for a hemi-in-jeep project....so i would see if they have one for a ram. and if u could snag the motor and the trans for $2000 i would sell the trans and buy a manual 6speed. u would prob like that better for towing anyways. good luck man. u should totally try this project!

I'm just wondering how bad the wiring would be. I would most likely end up putting the motor in myself and then bringing it in to get the wiring all done. I wish there was some write-up on it though. Do the stock motor mounts even mount up?

I believe he was saying the donor motor he would be getting is a 5.7 Hemi from a truck that was GETTING a 6.1 put in it's place...

Correct, I would be 100% there on the 6.1L but they're so much more money. I'm on a restricted budget. My goal is to get the truck up and running again with more power and more reliability. I think the Hemi is my best option, but I'm not sure how much this will cost. I'm seeing around $4,000 IMO. I just can not find any info on the swap.
