HID's are really the next step. Otherwise you might put some drive lights in the grill to help.

New eyes.......LOL

No seriously, I'm the same. Just noticed at 50 that night sight is deteriorating.
I went to the opticians and sorted out a new pair of glasses.
I think in the near future I'm going to get that laser stuff done.
As for the lights, go HID's my friend.
You will never go back to lamps after that upgrade.
Just done mine about 4 months ago and it's honestly like a night and day differance.
Get a good kit wiout the flickering lamp out issues and stay away from E-bay if the seller won't guarantee that last statement!
I got 6000k hi/los and fogs.
It's super white bright with a hint of blue.
8000k's are a lot of blue and I believe those around the 4500k are pure white with no blue content.
HID's are the way to go and if adjusted correctly, you will not get flashed.
Hope this helps?
Al.

you could try a couple of sets of these

turns night into day
just kidding, you could never use these on the road, people would be crashing into each other
iv used PIAA bulbs in the past and they are a big improvement
not as good as hids, im sure, but a l lot cheaper too

Sounds like you need either some driving lights or maybe to convert your headlights to HID's.

sry i am new to just about everything here when it comes to upgrades when you say HIDs are you meaning those Bright Blue Lights that are blinding at times on the road?

If so are you able to just change the bulb out or do you need to get some type of new harness to support the additional surge of electricity?

yes that's what they are talking about. BUT, done right, they can be less annoying to oncoming traffic than even the stock lights. If you are doing HIDs, plan on getting projector headlights.

Hid's or High Intensity Discharge lights, are not just bulbs.
They use ballasts and an extra harness to deliver the high voltages needed to run them.
The upshot is brighter lights that funnily enough use less power to run than standards as they are more efficient.

The blue lights are from the higher kelvins/colour temperatures they run at.
4000K = almost pure white light. 6000K which I have, are white with a hint of blue and 8000K+ give more blue content.
They will not blind people if you correctly align your headlights.

Make SURE you get a system that guarntees that no lamp out messages or the dreaded flickering ocurrs.
If the person your buying them from won't do that........walk away from them.
There are plently of kit suppliers who will warranty perfect systems at cheap prices.

As I say, I also have bi-xenon hi and lo's with fogs 6000K from Tim Garza at HID Solutions and they are a great and to date, one of the best upgrades, I have made to my truck.

Hope this helps?
Al.
