Default Stopping issues

When stopping in my 2006, 2wd, 5.7, I notice that I get a groaning/grinding noise coming from the front end. It only happens when stopping and only in about that last 30-40 feet. I also have a little vibration in the seat of my pants at highway speeds. I just had new tires installed and the brake rotors are in good shape. Truck has 39,000 miles on it, any ideas???

I would assume the brake pads are worn all the way down. The vibration can be caused by a bunch of things. We would need a little more info if possible.

Who did your tires? Did you/they properly torque the lug nuts or just slam them on with the impact wrench? I'd suspect that they may have tightened them down too much, which can lead to warped rotors and faster wear of the pads. The symptoms you are describing sound brake related to me, so I would definitely start there. When you put your wheels back on, use a torque wrench.
