Not all codes will cause a CEL, when I had one continously pop up on my 05' for a speed sensor or something of that nature (p2222 or p2226 I believe) I never once got a CEL, the only way I could tell to check for codes was that it was acting up and not running normally, the truck was shutting its self off, the idle was next to nothing, and the cruise control stopped working.
