bags, weld or bolt?

Default bags, weld or bolt?

ordered some rear air bags and was wondering from those who have done this install are you all scrappin the bolts and welding them on or are you using the bolts .
i have a bad feeling about drilling the frame.

hammer welded his. Looks good. No nuts to rust off or comeing loose. Only thing is you'll ned to cut off the brackets if you ever decide to remove. I personally bolted mine because my kit goes between the bottom of the frame and the top of the axle. Only bolts holding it to the frame are the 2 small bolts that hold the stock bumpers on and a big U-bolt that wraps around the top of the frame. I can remove my whole kit in less than 1hr as was installed.

If you bought the leafspring mount style, you have zero worries with adding a lift kit. Mine I would have to block the airbags in order to lift and that doesn't sound like a good way to go. i would prob just remove these and buy new ones. Expect to raise the back about 1" with the bags inflated to a min. of 5lbs.

did you say 1" lift? what size tire can I run with that?

You know, I never measured a before and after the bag install height but I keep about 10 lbs. in mine with an empty bed. I inflated it from 10# to the max 100# one day with an empty bed just to measure how much it went up and I was amazed it was only about 3/4"...
