Can you custom fab for a 5 bolt pattern instead of 8? If so that would be sweet and worth my money, cause then I wouldnt have to switch my rims out.

Default I did it to a 2wd 2002

I put a high pinion dana 44 under the front of my 2wd truck. I used a seperate 205 transfer case. I used a 5 lug setup froma 70's model F-150. I can send some pictures if you would like? The fram on the 2wd is the same as the 4wd and it was not hard to do just took a solid week of doing the work and about 5 months of gathering parts. I used a steering gear box out of a Jeep grand cherokee form the junk yard. email me if you want pictures.

Snap. It seems the guys with the coolest stuff just go out and do it...screw forums

On a side note, how well does that truck stop? Those front discs look like they get quite a workout from the wheels/tires/weight of the truck.

if you want an off road vehicle get a LAND ROVER LR3. best thing i have ever driven off road! not sure how it would handle jumps because it weighs so much bu other than that it is PERFECT! and still amazingly civilized on road.

I have no problem stopping, it feels real good. These are 37"x13.5 on some 18x12 wheels so they are not too big. There are some guys around my house that have bigger tires on the same front end.

Nothing inherently wrong with independent suspension at all, as long as the parts are strong enough. Baja trucks have huge travel IFS front ends. I built SAE Mini Baja cars in college, and 4 wheel independent suspension was a given. Beat the **** out of them too.

I have been doing some research to do to my 2004 dodge ram 1500 with 6in of lift and from wat i have found is the best way to go about it is with a ford 3/4 or 1 ton axles because of the ford has a high pinion angle and the dodge has a low which will help you with your drive shaft angles to make it easier to lift higher i plan on running a set of 54 on mine with ford axles
