Differences between 3815 and 3865
As the title says... What is the bottom line on the two?
I have an 08 1500 Mega Cab. It is bone stock. I will be aiding a CAI eventually and possibly exhaust. But no other engine mods.

The 3865 and 3815 programmers share tuning so your vehicle will behave the same when tuned; however, the 3865 does have some innovations making it more 'user friendly' and 'in cabin friendly' like dimmable backlit LCD screen, quick tune menus, reduced size (fits in one hand), and 2009MY and newer applications. 3865 also communicates with the entire Dodge portfolio allowing Ram users to tune a Charger with the same device (assuming the VIN is unlocked). In the past you'd need a 3815 and a 3825.
