Seeing as how I'm unemployed right now, it's probably going toward gas. I gotta meet with the VA this week to set up my GI bill, hopefully the community college in my area will accept my 41 credits in fire science from the navy, and see my disability eligibility... Hey it's a little extra money from the government if I get it and I'm not scamming no one either, they go though your medical record and then schedule tests and then I really don't know what's next but I need to get the ball rolling. Hopefully three months from now I'll still be on my feet, in college and still driving my Hemi.

Congrats on the money saved, and not trying to rain on any parades... but I've been down this road two times in my 26 years of buying auto insurance. I switched companies twice to save money and both times within less than a year was paying more than I was with the previous company. There are lots of companies who will offer you savings up front to get your business, then turn around and raise your rates the first chance they get - sometimes for no reason at all. I ended up going back with the company that I started with, Farm Bureau, and decided I'd stick with them unless something drastic changed on their end. It may not be the cheapest rate I can get, but I've gotten to know my agent and his assistant very well over the years and can trust them to go the extra mile to help me out. My agent even called me once to talk me thru some changes in my policy that saved me money - can't beat that!

So enjoy the money savings, but keep an eye on your rates!

Yep, I used to switch all the time too, but found they low balled you to get you to bite, then within about 2 years, they increase you higher than you paid the old company.
I'm 42 now so the rates are low, perfectly clean record. The Truck and a Grand Cherokee Overland run me about $1100 a year for full coverage on both, and a $500 deductable. I figure that's about as low as I'm gonna see, so I don't even shop 'em anymore, and prolly won't unless they jump it on me...

For comparison, I have a '08 Dodge Ram 4x4, '07 GMC Sierra 4x4, '03 Jeep Liberty, '89 Toyota 4x4, and my '03 Honda Rancher ATV all on my policy. The Yota has liability and the trucks and Jeep have full comp and collision w/ $100 deductibles. That covers me, my wife, and my 19-year old son. Currently paying right around $3,000 per year (the ATV is about $145 of that amount).
