Where is the EGR for a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 liter?

Where is the EGR for a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 liter?
I've read that some Ram models have them, others don't. Not sure why. If mine doesn't have one, what is the reason? is there another system component that accomplishes the same purpose?
