The lens on my factory under hood lamp got brittle and cracked into a couple of pieces. It's on a 2005 Ram and even after taking the lens to the local dealership parts counter they say I need to give them a part number? This can't possibly be that tough but they want to make it difficult. Can someone help out?

Your dealer was being lazy. They could have looked it up from your VIN or simply by looking up a 2005 Ram on their system. Two things you can do: Go to another dealer that hopefully will be more helpful, or PM Parts/Service and ask him.
