Default 06 4x4 ram, Front end problems!

OK, this is my first time posting in this forum, so take it easy on me, hopefully I am posting in the correct area and following the rules.

I am having a problem with my 06 Ram 4x4 quadcab. Still under warranty, not having much luck at the dealership finding the problem.

Story goes like this.......

Three months ago started noticing a vibration in the mosting in the front end (felt like snow or ice in one of the wheelwells) at 95km/h to 105km/h. Any under or over those speeds were smooth. Brought it to the dealership, they rotated tires.Still same problem.
two weeks later and maybe 200km of driving, same problem but now happening at 70km/h to 80km/h and also 95-105. So I knew it was getting worse. This time I brought it in and they told me the tires were pitted and belts let go on three of four tires. They found that out when they tried to balance the tires as they thought that was the problem. in the meantime, they also replaced one shock, one ball joint, axle seals, and one side axle bearings.
So, I knew I needed tires, I got all four new tires (not cheap on 20" rims) and went to drive on a trip 500km each way. The vibrations were still there in the front end and almost worse, even with the new tires, basically 70km/h to 120km.h bad vibrations and steering wheel woble not only side to side but back and forth. By the time I got back fromt he trip this was even happening when I braked.
So I bring it in again. Hmmmm Rotors now! Also tie rods, another ball joint, and the other shock. All need replacing. I was not shocked, only because it was taking such abuse over the course of the trip and time between appointments whatever is causeing the original problem must be causing all these other things to go also.
So after all these things, still have slight vibriations and steering wheel woble on the highway.
Not only that but front end feels really loose. When I say loose going very slowly say 10-20km/h down a rough road or through a parking lots I feel shuttering in the steering wheel and just feels like something is loose and rattling?

My question is, what should I be asking the mechanics to look at? Steering wheel woble and shuttering at low speeds.

Please help!

shuttering could be tranny issue's. Specifically your torque converter.
Driveshafts can cause irregularities at different speeds.
A bent wheel can cause EVERYTHING you described.
Shocks and tierods replaced in an 06? How many miles you got? Please give miles not KM. Most have no idea what KM converts to in Miles and I hate pulling out my chart all the time. Thanks.

It sounds to me whatever the problem is, it's causeing all these other failures! Here in the states, we have a Lemon Law. If the dealership cannot fix the problem by the third time for the same problem, you only get a pro-rate on your current vehicle, but it all goes towards a new one.

Also, did they atleast Pro-rate your tires? if you had any life left in them they have to pro-rate them if they were failing due to a Manufacture defect.

first, thanks dirtydog!

Sorry about miles to KM. 0.625 miles is 1km. I have 31250mi on my truck and yes, new tie rods, shocks, ball joints, seals ect ect ect.

I am not sure about the Pro Rate laws for Canada, but I have now as of today been 5 times and still a problem.

Regarding the life of the tires, there was still tons of life, just pitted and belts let go in three. Also one year out of warranty.

I know for sure the driveshaft has been out and put back taking that out of the equaction, and tires rotated a ton(so if one wheel is bent it would be in different spots all the time, cause different vibrations. However I will ask about the trany..........although to me it feels smooth all the way through the gearing. this is more felt once i am crusing speeds, not if I stand on it and the speedo is climbing through the numbers.

Thanks for your comments, let's see where they get me........maybe some cash back depending on how much I complain. I have been really good up until now, however even they are out of ideas.

Default same same

I have been through same since about the 20,000 mi range myself multiple alignments both struts up front replaced. They replaced my front drive shaft, didnt help a bit. I have had leaf springs replaced also I forgot it's been in so many times for this. No the 20's are not cheap I have done same replaced all 4 bout 5000 mi ago I am with exact same issue. I bought my ram brand new in 06 this gradually got worse over time I ran the same gambit that you have with the dealer all my rotors replaced fronts helped for a bit but I'm back to same problem. I now have 53,000+ and am on here this a.m. looking for same answer.

My steering always vibrates at crusing/highway speeds and when I brake I get a left/right back and forth type pulse in the wheel coupled with the ever present vib up front its not a rear thing this has driven me nuts forever. This is mechanical it has to be able to lend it's self for correction what though you got me?

Anyone out there know give a shout out and holla heeyyy! lol

I had a problem with similar symptoms, it turned out to be the steering damper.

im willing to also bet that when your driving down the highway at about 65-70 mph,
your passenger seat is shaking violenty (with no passenger of course)

had all these same issues with my 06 ram--but it
only got worse-- after 10k the electrical problems also started
computer, egr, etc... random stalling while driving, no oil pressure etc...
brake failure

keep at it with the dealer and keep records, i think thats all you can do
wish you better like than i had
