I just bought a new throttle body, but short of that I think I would go with throttle body cleaner like the future TOTM winner suggested.

Dodge issued a TSB regarding throttle body cleaner. It tells techs to use brake cleaner instead.

HMMM I wonder what the reasoning is behind that? Thats interesting. I've done a few and I always used TB cleaner and never any problem. I'm curious to know more about this.

I forget which forum I saw the notes and reference on. TB cleaner more "corrosive", more likely to damage the Idle Air Controller on the TB? I don't think the TSB said why. The manual says do not use carb cleaner. Maybe TB cleaner is chemically too close to carb cleaner.

My shop manual says not to use carb cleaner -- maybe it's very close to TB cleaner and don't use for the same reason.

Huh, who would have thought that you shouldn't use throttle body cleaner on a throttle body?
