Default Underseat Storage

I have 2003 Dodge RAM HEMI SLT with the underseat storage, and I was curious to know if anyone with the underseat storage has ever turned theirs in the front seat into a cooler? I was thinking about making it so I could put ice/cold beverages into it, but didn't know about making a drain for it.

I have a boat with built in coolers and they use a tube that runs out to the side of the boat. I would go to a Marina and see if they have any ideas. I know there are also coolers out there with a Cig. adapter for cars you might want to look into one of those. Or you can get a tool box for the bed and put one in there!. Post what you find this sounds like a neat idea.

If you come up with a way to work it, let us know. That sounds like a great idea if you can pull it off.

you can buy small coolers off of ebay for about 30 bucks. i would do that and just drill a whole in it and put a tube through the hole and have it go out of the hole that is drilled through the floor board for the jack bolt. but that all on the passenger side. i dont know if thats what you want.

I took a look at the storage compartments on the new trucks, and I think I like the idea of having them in the back. If I would do it this way I wouldn't have to lift up the whole console each time I want to get into the compartment. Does anyone know if Mopar sells that rear-compartment as a part? The new ones have a plastic liner that you can pull out to clean and empty/drain. Underneath the plastic is metal, and on the bottom side is cloth(I'm guessing this is to eliminate noise).
