Ram 2500. No MDS.

I'd prefer a manual, but I'm not the only driver. The interesting part is that Tow/Haul didn't have the same effect, but O/D did. That tells me that I was getting into/out-of 4th and/or there is a difference in TC lockup.

 

I hate mds, + automatics..only choice for me was the 2500 with the 5.7 and six speed.

Back when I was a young guy in the 80s taking apart the shop teachers 4 speed auto transmisson, I was told shifting into OD your self saved wear and tear on the transmisson and gave you improved acceleration and city mpg.

AS for five speed automatics, I have not kept up with the times ..

GM and Ford really did not have great 4 speed automatics back in the 80's
