Default odometer

I was talking to a guy who says that you can remove a fuse and the odometer shuts off, he says that you have to be carfule what you buy used cause the trouble codes that show up if the fuse is removed can be erased and you would never know that there are more miles on the truck then the odometer reads is this true does anyone know about this. No guessing please cause I'm looking to buy used and if this is true then i might just go with new.

Yeah I doubt they would make it so easy to defeat the odometer. I believe it is Federal law that they must make it hard to tamper with. A fuse might shut the display part of the odometer, but it probably still records the mileage in your computer like irelandshemi says.
